اعداد اصلی و ترتیبی

Ordinal and cardinal numbers

اعداد اصلی (cardinal) همان اعداد معمولی هستند. اعداد ترتیبی (Ordinal) اعدادی مانند اول، دوم، سوم، و …. هستند. به غیر از چند استثناء برای ساختن عدد ترتیبی به آخر عدد th اضافه می‌‌‌‌کنیم. (در عدد یک از st – در عدد دو از nd و در عدد ۳ از rd استفاده می‌شود.)

۰th = zeroth or nought

۱st = first

۲nd = second

۳rd = third

۴th = fourth

۵th = fifth

۶th = sixth

۷th = seventh

۸th = eighth

۹th = ninth

۱۰th = tenth

۱۱th = eleventh

۱۲th = twelfth

۲۰th = twentieth

۲۱st = twenty-first

۲۵th = twenty-fifth

۳۰th = thirtieth

۳۲nd = thirty-second

۴۰th = fortieth

۵۰th = fiftieth

۵۸th = fifty-eighth

۶۰th = sixtieth

۶۴th = sixty-fourth

۷۰th = seventieth

۷۹th = seventy-ninth

۸۰th = eightieth

۸۳rd = eighty-third

۹۰th= ninetieth

۹۹th = ninety-ninth

پس به طور کلی عدد هر چه باشد آن را می خوانیم و به آخرین عدد st, nd, rd  یا th

اضافه  می‌کنیم.

 

طرز گفتن روز و ماه و سال

مرسوم‌ترین روش برای گفتن سال، گفتن اعداد به صورت دو تایی است. یعنی به سال ۱۹۲۰ گفته می‌شود: nineteen-twenty

۱BC=  one BC سال یک قبل از میلاد

۲۳۵ =  Two thirty-five

۹۹۹ = Nine ninety-nine

۱۰۰۰ = One thousand

۱۲۲۵ = Twelve twenty-five

۱۹۰۰ = Nineteen hundred

۱۹۰۱ = Nineteen oh-one

۱۹۱۹ = Nineteen nineteen

۱۹۹۹ = Nineteen ninety-nine

۲۰۰۰ = Two thousand or Twenty hundred

۲۰۰۱ = Two thousand (and) one or Twenty oh-one

۲۰۰۹ = Two thousand (and) nine or Twenty oh-nine

۲۰۱۰ = Twenty-ten or Two thousand (and) ten

۲۰۲۵ = Twenty twenty-five

۲۰۹۹ = Twenty ninety-nine

۲۱۰۰ = Twenty-one hundred

۲۱۰۱ = Twenty-one-oh-one or Two thousand, one hundred (and) one

اعداد کسری و اعشاریFractions and decimals                       

ا. اعداد کسری

برای بیان اعداد کسری معمولا صورت کسر را معمولی و مخرج کسر را ترتیبی می‌خوانیم:

۱/۱۶ = one-sixteenth           

۱/۱۰ or 0.1 = one-tenth            

۱/۸ = one-eighth

۲/۱۰ or 0.2 = two-tenths          

¼ = one-quarter (British) or one-fourth (American)

۳/۱۰ or 0.3 = three-tenths        

۱/۳ = one-third                     

 ۳/۸ = three-eighths

۴/۱۰ or 0.4 = four-tenths          

½ = one half                         

۶/۱۰ or 0.6 = six-tenths

۵/۸ = five-eighths                   

۲/۳ = two-thirds                     

۷/۱۰ or 0.7 = seven-tenths  

¾ = three-quarters (British) or three-fourths (American)           ۱۵/۱۶ = fifteen-sixteenths

 گاهی اوقات ممکن است از کلمه‌ی over  به معنای روی هم استفاده شود. مثلا برای ۸/۲ گفته شود: eight over two . (بیشتر در انگلیسی بریتانیا)

۲٫ اعداد اعشاری

در اعداد اعشاری معمولا به جای ممیز از کلمه‌ی point استفاده می‌شود و به جای عدد صفر از zero یاnaught استتفاده می‌شود و اعداد بعد از ممیز، یکی یکی خوانده می‌شوند. ) ممکن است در گفتارهای غیر رسمی به جای صفر o گفته شود)

۰ .۰۰۲ = “point zero zero two”, “point o o two”, “nought point zero zero two”, etc.

۰٫۵ = naught point five (US: zero point five)

۳٫۳۷۵ = three point three seven five

۹۹٫۳ = ninety- nine point three

۱۳٫۷۵ = thirteen point seven five

۳٫۱۴۱۶ = three point one four one six

 

بیان اعداد در زبان انگلیسی

How to say numbers in English

۱٫ ابتدا از یک تا ۲۰

One/ two / three/ four/ five/ six/ seven/ eight/ nine/ ten/ eleven/ twelve/ thirteen/ fourteen/ fifteen/ sixteen/ seventeen/ eighteen/ nineteen/ twenty

۲٫ ده تا ۱۰۰

Ten / twenty/ thirty/ forty / fifty / sixty / seventy / eighty / ninety / hundred

اکنون برای گفتن اعداد  از یک تا ۱۰۰ مشکلی نداریم. برای مثال اگر عدد ۲۲ را بخواهیم بیان کنیم، می‌گوییم: twenty two یا ۷۱ می‌شود: seventy one. پس هر عددی را که بخواهیم بیان کنیم اول دهگان آن را می‌گوییم و بلافاصله یکان آن را اضافه می‌کنیم.

۳٫ اعداد بین ۱۰۰ تا ۱۰۰۰

One hundred/ two hundred/ three hundred/ four hundred ….. one thousand

باید توجه داشته باشیم که به hundred )100) یا thousand (1000) نباید s جمع اضافه کنیم.

۴٫ اعدا ۱۰۰۰ تا ۱۰۰۰۰۰۰

هر تعداد ۱۰۰۰ وجود داشته باشد را اول می گوییم و سپس کلمه‌ی thousand  را می‌آوریم.

۱۰۰۰ = one thousand

۲۰۰۰ = two thousand

۲۰,۰۰۰ = twenty thousand

۳۰,۰۰۰ = thirty thousand

۸۵,۰۰۰ = eighty-five thousand

۹۹۹,۰۰۰ = nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand (British English)
nine hundred ninety-nine thousand (American English)

۱,۰۰۰,۰۰۰ = one million

در انگلیسی بریتانیا بین اعداد از کلمه‌ی and استفاده می‌شود اما در انگلیسی امریکا از این کلمه استفاده نمی‌شود.

 

۳۲۵ = three hundred and twenty-five (UK)

۳۲۵ = three hundred twenty-five (US)

۷۱۹ = seven hundred and nineteen (UK)

۷۱۹ = seven hundred nineteen (US)

۳,۰۷۷ = three thousand and seventy-seven (UK)

۳,۰۷۷ = three thousand seventy-seven (US)

توجه: بعد از هزارگان یک ویرگول برای جدا کردن گذاشته می‌شود.

۵٫ بیشتر از یک میلیون:

۱۰۰۰,۰۰۰ = one million

۱,۰۰۰,۰۰۰,۰۰۰ = one billion (US) one milliard (UK)

۱,۰۰۰,۰۰۰,۰۰۰,۰۰۰ = one trillion (US) one billion (UK)

۱,۰۰۰,۰۰۰,۰۰۰,۰۰۰,۰۰۰ = one quadrillion (US) one billiard (UK)

در گفتارهای غیرسمی و دوستانه ممکن است اعداد جور دیگری گفته شوند. مثلا به جای صفر oh گفته شود. بخصوص در گفتن شماره های خیابانها، منازل یا اتوبوسها.

۱۰۱ = “One-oh-one.”

۱۰۹ = “One-oh-nine.”

۱۱۰ = “One-ten.” or  “One-one-oh.”  

۲۰۸ = “Two-oh-eight.”

۳۳۴ = “Three-thirty-four.” Or “Three-three- four.

بیان روز و ماه

هرچند از روشهای مختلفی برای بیان تقویم استفاده می‌شود اما می‌توان معمولترین آنها را به این ترتیب ذکر کرد:

۱٫ درانگلیسی بریتانیایی معمولا روز قبل از ماه می‌آید و روز به صورت ترتیبی بیان می‌شود:

The 1st of October 1984

The first of January 2005

The 25th of January 2005

گاهی the  و of حذف می‌شوند:

۲۵th January 2005

ممکن است ترتیبی بودن (th) هم حذف شود:

 ۲۵ January 2005

۲٫ در انگلیسی امریکایی معمولا روز بعد از ماه می‌آید:

September 4, 1990 (read “September four(th), nineteen ninety”)

June 10, 1969 (June ten(th), nineteen sixty-nine”)

 

• برای بیان دوره ها و یا بازه های تاریخی از کلمات زیر استفاده می کنبم:

 Decade: every ten years

e.g. in 1990s or 90s (between the years 1990 to 1999

 Century: every one hundred years

e.g. in the 21^st century

 Millennium: every one thousand years

e.g. The corpse had lain preserved in the soil for almost two millennia/millenniums

* برای بیان شماره تلفن، فاکس و شماره سریال ها:

• برای بیان اعداد شماره تلفن، فاکس و یا شماره سریال، آنها را بصورت رقم به رقم یا تک تک بیان می کنیم. مانند:

 ۰۰۹۸ ۹۱۹ ۳۵ ۳۶ ۳۷۸

(oh, oh (double oh), nine, eight, nine, one, nine, three, five, three, six, three, seven, eight)

۴۵ ۶۹ ۸۷ ۹۰

• در صورتی که یک رقم دوبار تکرار شود می توان به انتخاب یا آن رقم را دوبار تکرار کرد و یا از کلمه Double استفاده کرد. مانند:

۲۱۲ ۵۵ ۳۱ ۲۲

(Two, One, Two, Five, Five, Three, One, Double Two)

or

(Two, One, Two, Double Five, Three, One, Two, Two)

• در صورتی که یک رقم سه بار تکرار شود می توان به انتخاب یا آن رقم را سه بار تکرار کرد و یا از کلمه Triple استفاده کرد. مانند:

 ۲۱۲ ۵۵۵ ۳۱ ۲۲۲

(Two, One, Two, Triple Five, Three, One, Two, Two, Two)

or

(Two, One, Two, Five, Five, Five, Three, One, Triple Two)
